President Trump has ordered the military to take control of a long strip of land running along the southern edges of California, Arizona and New Mexico, known as the Roosevelt Reservation. Doing this is an attempt on his part to sidestep a federal law prohibiting U.S. troops from being used in domestic law enforcement on American soil. This move is likely to face a court challenge.
