Description
A pair of orbiters built by the European Space Agency (ESA) and by
Japan’s space agency (JAXA) will begin a mission to circle the
innermost planet in 2 different orbits, scanning and studying its
surface geography, its core, and its magnetic field. The pair of
orbiters, and the craft that flew them there are collectively called
BepiColombo, after an Italian scientist who previously studied the
planet.
